Beginners’ Courses

I know from experience that starting a new movement practice can feel intimidating. Our rolling four week beginners’ courses are a great way to learn the basics in a supportive environment and make some new friends along the way.

Our next course is starting on Wed 8th April from 6:30pm - 7:30pm and will run for four consecutive weeks.

    Location:

Classes are held at Scorriton Village Hall, Buckfastleigh

There is plenty of parking on site.

Conveniently located for people coming from surrounding villages including Holne, Scorriton, Dean and Buckfast with easy access from nearby towns such as Buckfastleigh and Ashburton

  • Ideal for people with busy lives, the classes offer a pause in the week—a chance to slow down, release tension, and reconnect with yourself through movement.

These classes are designed to be welcoming and engaging for a range of bodies and experience levels. Beginners are supported with clear guidance and options, while more experienced practitioners are invited to explore depth and variation within the flow.

The focus is on attentive, breath-led movement that builds awareness of how you move and feel, encouraging a strong connection between body and mind.

If you’re completely new to yoga or would prefer more detailed guidance, a dedicated Beginners’ Course is available to help you feel supported and confident.

  • Classes are held in person and last for one hour.

We often begin slowly with time to settle onto our mats through breath work and gentle, exploratory movement.

As the class progresses, the level of challenge gradually builds—inviting strength, curiosity, and focus—before easing back into slower movement and rest towards the end of the session.

Each week brings a different focus. Sometimes we slow things down to explore poses in more detail; other times we follow the rhythm of the breath, moving fluidly—often with music—to encourage a sense of flow.

Camille’s teaching style is light hearted and playful with an emphasis on what works for you in a pose - empowering you to feel comfortable and strong, on and off the mat.

Over the years she has grown an increased appreciation for yoga as an embodiment practice and it’s ability to draw us out of our busy minds and into our bodies.
