St Agnes Circular via Chapel Porth and St Agnes Beacon
Trevaunance Cove with Trevallas Cove in the background.
This walk has it all - it starts with a bakery, passes along the iconic Wheal Coates mine, pauses mid way for a swim, croque monsier and a famous Iced Hedgehog (Cornish ice-cream, smothered in Cornish clotted cream and lazily rolled in hazelnuts) and heads home via St Agnes beacon for far reaching views and a chance to digest!
St Agnes Circular - Route Overview
Parking/Start Point: I’ve arranged this walk to start and finish at St Agnes’ Bakery (they’re famous for their sausage rolls - there are veg and vegan options too, and I really love their focaccia!) You could park at any St Agnes parking lot and then head to the bakery before starting the walk.
Cafe: Chapel Porth Beach Cafe - famous for their family of croques (see image below) and their Hedgehog Ice-cream!
Distance 6.6 miles / 10.6 km
Duration: 3.5 hrs plus time to swim and enjoy some food!
Difficulty: Beginner friendly - there’s a descent and steep ascent into and out of Chapel Porth, and then of course an incline as you head up towards the beacon. Take your time and give yourself permission to take as many breaks as you’d like!
Elevation: 1082ft
