Women’s Coastal Pilgrimage

“I walk in the world to love it.” - Mary Oliver

Four days and three nights backpacking along the wild edges of Cornwall’s Lizard Peninsula - a journey of sea, sky, and self.

Step away from the familiar and embark on a journey that is both adventure and homecoming - a place to meet yourself in the vastness of nature and the quiet strength of supportive community.

Take a moment to look at the photos from our last trip!

I was definitely hesitant at the start because I didn't know anyone, but I was instantly put at ease. Everyone welcomed me with big, friendly hugs, and it was comforting to realise we all shared the same nervous, excited energy! …I would encourage anyone to give this trip a go. While you might step out of your comfort zone at times, it only adds to the massive sense of achievement at the end.

Everything you need to know

I would highly recommend this experience to anyone - older or younger. We were a mix of ages and backgrounds, it was beautifully organised and the landscapes were out of this world. Amazing views, hidden swimming coves, wildflowers everywhere, sunsets with a beer in hand after a good day’s tramp- truly a magical experience. If you’re hesitating, my advice is go for it! You won’t regret it.

You might be wondering…

I had no experience of walking with a whole bunch of camping gear on my back before this trip, and was a little worried about whether I would be fit enough to keep up, or if I would survive the camping. I needn't have worried at all - Camille is an excellent and supportive guide who encouraged us to take our time and enjoy the scenery and the experience, and to take breaks as we needed…I came away feeling proud of myself and empowered, with a new sense of clarity and confidence.

I was concerned about negotiating the hike with a full pack and made the right decision for me to have my bag transferred. It was the best decision as it left me free to really enjoy the hike  and tackle it with confidence. I felt proud of myself. …I also really enjoyed all the unexpected moments of the trip - like a spontaneous cream tea after a swim even though we’d just had lunch or hiring a fire pit at the campsite and chatting all evening. I loved the camaraderie of the group, it was lovely to connect with other women and here about their lives.

Frequently Asked Questions

Meet your guide, Camille

In the late summer of 2023, during a period of large transition in my life, I set out on a pilgrimage of my own to walk the length of the South West Coast Path.

I was blessed to share the journey with another at the time, and I feel incredibly privileged to share this next journey with you.

I am often asked what I remember most about my time walking, and for me, it was the small acts of kindness from strangers - like the gift of a scented dryer sheet so my clothes could smell less like damp camping for a short while or the offer of a sofa bed on an especially miserable night.

Guiding with care and kindness lay the foundation for these walking pilgrimages.

“The sea can do craziness, it can do smooth, it can lie down like silk breathing or toss havoc shoreward; it can give gifts or withhold all; it can rise, ebb, froth like an incoming frenzy of fountains, or it can sweet-talk entirely. As I can too, and so, no doubt, can you, and you.”
